Hush Puppies

Ingrédients
- 1 1/2 c. cornmeal
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c. finely chopped onion
- 1 c. buttermilk
Instructions
1. Mix all dry ingredients together.
2. Add onion, then milk and last the beaten egg.
3. Drop by small tablespoons into hot deep fat. They will sink toward bottom of fat and when done on one side, the almost perfectly formed balls will pop to the top and continue to brown on the other side.
4. Drain on paper towels and serve warm.
