Best Brownies I Know

Ingrédients
- 1 pkg. Nestle semi-sweet chocolate morsels
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
1. Melt over hot (not boiling) water the chocolate morsels with shortening; set aside.
2. Stir together and set aside flour, baking powder and salt.
3. Beat until thick the eggs and sugar.
4. Add flour mixture, chocolate mixture and vanilla.
5. Blend.
6. Pour into 8-inch square, greased, wax paper lined pan.
7. Sprinkle chopped nuts over top.
8. Bake at 375° for 25 minutes.
9. Yields 16 (2-inch) squares. Allow to cool before cutting.
