  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 c. plain flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring

1. Preheat oven to 325°.

2. Cream together sugar and shortening. Add eggs, one at a time, beat well.

3. Add flour, one tablespoon at a time.

4. Beat well.

5. Beat in salt, lemon juice and vanilla flavoring; beat well.
