Fresh Pear Cake

- 3 c. chopped pears or 4 c. chopped apples
- 3/4 c. salad oil
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. soda
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 c. chopped pecans (optional)

1. Mix oil and sugar; blend in vanilla and eggs.
2. Sift all dry ingredients and add to mixture.
3. Add pears and nuts (optional). Mix well.
4. Bake in greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.
5. Cook 45 minutes in 350° oven.
6. Cool and ice with Cream Cheese Icing.
7. Cut into 24 squares.
