Pumpkin Applesauce Bread

- 2/3 c. shortening
- 2 1/2 c. sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 c. applesauce
- 1 c. pumpkin
- 3 1/3 c. flour, sifted
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. mace
- 2/3 c. apple juice
- 1 c chopped walnuts

1. Cream together shortening and sugar.
2. Add eggs, one at a time. Beat well after each.
3. Stir in applesauce and pumpkin.
4. Sift together dry ingredients and add alternately with apple juice. Stir in chopped nuts.
5. Turn into 2 greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pans.
6. Bake at 350° for 1 hour or until done.
7. May be wrapped in foil and frozen.
